My name is Simon. I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with full accreditation from the BABCP. I am a qualified, COSRT-registered Psychosexual Psychotherapist and am also fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have been working as a therapist since 2014 and in mental health since 2006.

My main modality is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Like counselling, CBT is a talking therapy. CBT is the treatment of choice for anxiety, depression, panic, OCD and many other issues. CBT is an active therapy - what is discussed in sessions will be put into practice in your day-to-day life, where the majority of your recovery will take place.

I also draw on aspects of Compassion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems therapy and Meta-Cognitive Therapy, as well as meditation and mindfulness practices.

Though I work with a vast range of presenting problems, my area of special interest and expertise is LGBTQ+/GSRD shame. I recently contributed a chapter on working with sexual shame in the new Pink Therapy manual for therapists, ‘Erotically Queer’, edited by Silva Neves and Dominic Davies, published in April 2023.

I am respectful, warm, open and flexible. Our therapy will be collaborative, creative and evolving. Together we will look for ways to improve your relationship with yourself and enhance your experience of life.

In line with ethical practice, regulatory bodies and accreditation requirements, I regularly receive clinical supervision for CBT, PST and EMDR.
